There is hope

The difference between
being on a leash or in a cage
means that either way, this perspective
still makes for a dog’s life.

Under someone’s thumb
causes every effort to seek out freedom
where it can be found
and forget the ties that bind.

If we know who we are,
we can adapt to the cage, the leash or the thumb.
If we know what we are,
then we know that we know there is hope.

Don’t be disillusioned
with the path to enlightenment.
Many struggle with the road, its dips and bumps,
while forgetting to swerve, jump and laugh at it all.

The desire to be someone who matters is strong.
Soldiers become more proficient, then retire.
Lovers become more interested, then lose that connection.
Dreamers awaken with new eyes and never stop dreaming.

It is not enough just to survive.
A dreamer must thrive in a place with good soil.
Plant positive ideas among like-minded people.
The Spirit is willing.
