Speaking of light: Invisible memory distorts visible light
Look in the mirror and see the reverse –
left is right, while up stays above me.
Snap a picture of a moment in time
the image is flat and still 2-D.
Eyes see “truth,” though so unreliable.
Brain remembers scenes as pliable.
Noses bigger in the wide-angle lens
Angles of light distort by the tens.
Vision captures our memories in a net.
What is you see is more than what we get.
Given a choice – camera or mirror –
we choose the glass because it’s dearer.
The world likes exactly how we seem now.
Our eyes seek reflection anyhow.
