We like the sound of beat on the tom.
The drummer pounds out the rhythm pom-pom
It takes concentrated touch and aplomb
Morning sun bright over fields getting green
The winds of change warmer, faster and mean
Click clack porch chimes, like an old slot machine
Time marches on
Soldiers march in step
In like a lion
Awaken with pep
We march our bags to the terminal port
In single file there’s a membership sort
Once in the air strangers tend to cavort
Land in the city, jump to a new beat
The extra weight of four bags on two feet
A Hansom cab clip-clop right down Main Street
Time marches on
Kids out of step
Out like a lamb
Love culture my rep
Pressure builds, there’s a boom-boom in my head
Sync up business schedules no time for bed
Need some country living before I’m dead
Hearts beat weakly when there’s not enough love
Basic baseball – catch the ball with your glove
Lucky days I heard coo-coo from a dove
Time marches on
Political prep
Tick of the clock
The March Hare’s so hep
Jog to the beat of a different drum
And change the meter by finger and thumb
May be underwhelmed but I overcome.
Let’s frogmarch anxiety out of here
We will stroll in time or act Cavalier
March madness is calling, that is quite clear.
