Often wondered how other people politely ask you to suspend your mission until they are ready to assist you?  This is how it goes, sometimes.

FRENCH        Attendez une minute, s’il vous plaît.

FINNISH         Olkaa hyvä, odota yksi minuutti.

GERMAN        Bitte, warten Sie eine Minute.

ITALIAN          Per favore, attendere un minuto.

POLISH          Prosze, odczekac jedna minute.

PORTUGUESE  Aguarde um minuto, se você por favor.

SWEEDISH     Vänligen, vänta en minut.

VIETNAMESE Làm O’n, dO’i m-O-t phút.

SPANISH       Por favor, espere un minuto.

KLINGON      wa’ tup loS

ENGLISH      (ring . ring . ring)

CALIFORNIA Ease up, brah!

TEXAS          Hold your horses.

SOUTH CAROLINA Gonna need some time.

NEW YORK  Pump your brakes.

FLORIDA     ¡ Esperate, mayn !

VERMONT    Let me ponder that.

ILLINOIS      I am NAT ready.

NEW MEXICO Let’s take a breath

HAWAII       Slow up, bruddah.

US ARMED FORCES  Wait one

NFL             That’s a 30-second time out.
